Jim has been heavily involved in West Somerset swimming for many years.
There is water all around so it is important children take the right actions to get themselves to safety. Most drownings occur within 10 metres of safety.

As Hon Sec; involved in the failed Washford Swimming Pool Project.
As Secretary of local Sports Council and District Councillor, successfully pressed for construction of Aquasplash.
As Chair of Dunster School, involved in the successful build of the Dunster School pool.
Joined Splashout committee in 1990 to raise money for a pool in the new Knights Templar school. Hon Sec of Splashout and subsequent improvements to the pool 2008; 2012; 2026.
Organised Watchet Dolphins and taught in Knights Templar pool since it opened in 1993.
Over 2,000 children taught to swim and many now bringing their own children
A number of local children have gone on to jobs in the Recreation Industry
Some have gone on to swim at County and at least two at National level.
